Corporate History

Since its establishment in 1953, Fukoku has built a strong foundation through research and development and the accumulation of technical expertise. This commitment demonstrates a determination to seek out and meet new challenges.


Dec. 1953 Eiichi Kawamoto set up Fukoku Rubber Industry Co., Ltd. in Nakano-ku, Tokyo with the capital fund of 500,000 yen, and started production and sales of automobile rubber parts.
1956 The company developed its own unique wiper blade rubber and started production.
Nov. 1957 Head office and the Kawaguchi plant were constructed and put into operation in Motogo-cho, Kawaguchi-city.
Sept. 1967 The Ageo plant was constructed and put into operation.
Sept. 1972 The company made an investment in Sueyoshi Industries Co., Ltd.
Apr. 1978 Tokyo Sales Office opened.
Aug. 1980 The Gunma plant and its mixing facility were constructed and put into operation.
Jan. 1983 Thai Fukoku Co., Ltd. was founded in Bangkok, Thailand and started production.
Jan. 1986 Fukoku Rubber Industry Co., Ltd. was renamed Fukoku Co., Ltd.
Apr. 1986 The Aichi plant was constructed and put into operation.
Jun. 1986 The company developed its own ultrasonic motor and started production.
Apr. 1987 Osaka Sales Office opened.
May 1987 Fukoku Korea Co., Ltd. was founded in Ansan-city and started production.
May 1990 The #2 Gunma plant was constructed and put into operation.
Oct. 1994 The Company became listed on an over-the-counter market.
Nov. 1994 Vermilion Rubber Technology, Inc. was established in Illinois, US.
Dec. 1995 Siam Fukoku Co., Ltd. was founded in Samutprakarn, Thailand and started production.
Feb. 1996 The company made an investment in Tokyo Rubber MFG Co., Ltd.
Nov. 1997 The company made an investment in Polymer Giken Co., Ltd.
Dec. 1997 PT. Fukoku Indonesia was founded in west Java, Indonesia.
Apr. 1998 The company acquired ISO9001 certification with accreditation from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Limited (LRQA).
Jun. 1998 Fujisawa Sales Office opened.
Dec. 1998 Fukoku Korea Co. and Simpson Korea Co. merged to become Fukoku Simpson Korea (FSK).
Jun. 1999 Taro Kawamoto assumed representative director and president.
Jan. 2001 Shanghai Fukoku Rubber & Plastics Industry Co., Ltd. was established as a joint venture.
May 2001 Fukoku America Inc. and Fukoku South Carolina Inc. were established in Lawrence, South Carolina.
Apr. 2002 Fukoku Rubber & Plastics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established in Shanghai, China.
Jul. 2002 Dongguan Fukoku Rubber & Plastics Industry Co., Ltd. was founded in Dongguan, Guangdong, China.
Mar. 2004 The company got listed on the 2nd section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
May 2004 Tokai Rubber Co., Ltd. invested in Fukoku Indonesia Co., Ltd. and was renamed PT. Fukoku Tokai Rubber Indonesia.
May 2004 Qingdao Fukoku Auto Fittings Co., Ltd. was established in Shandong, China
Jul. 2004 Fukoku Simpson Korea dissolved its capital relationship with Metaldyne Co. and was renamed Fukoku Korea Co. Ltd.
Dec. 2004 Vermilion Rubber Technology, Inc. (Illinois, US) was liquidated.
Dec. 2004 CF Fukoku Luxembourg S.A was established as a joint venture with CF Gomma
Mar. 2005 The company's stock was upgraded to the 1st section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Jun. 2005 Head office was relocated to Saitama-city.
Sept. 2005 CFA Gomma was established as a joint venture in Guizhou, China.
Jan. 2006 Fukoku America Inc. and Fukoku South Carolina Inc. were merged to become Fukoku America Inc.
Aug. 2007 The Korat factory, Siam Fukoku Co., Ltd. put into operation.
Jun. 2009 Jiro Kawamoto assumed representative director and president.
Apr. 2010 Fukoku AP Co., Ltd. was founded in Bangkoku, Thailand.
Apr. 2010 Buwon TECH Co., Ltd. was founded in Ansan-city as a subsidiary of Fukoku Korea Co., Ltd.
Oct. 2010 Fukoku India Private Limited was founded in Pune, India.
Nov. 2010 Thaifukoku Panaplus Foundry Co., Ltd. was founded in Sumutprakan, Thailand as a affiliated company of Thai Fukoku Co., Ltd.
Dec. 2010 CF Fukoku Luxembourg S.A sold off all the stocks of CFA Gomma
Jan. 2011 Nanjing Fukoku BLF Rubber Co., Ltd. was founded as a affiliated company in Nanjing, China.
Mar. 2011 Fukoku Vietnam Co., Ltd. was founded in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Jun. 2011 Head office was relocated to Ageo-city.
Dec. 2011 PT.Trim Rubber was founded as a subsidiary company of Tokyo Rubber MFG in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Oct. 2012 Fukoku Rubber & Plastics (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was liquidated.
Dec. 2012 The Korat 2 factory, Siam Fukoku Co., Ltd. put into operation.
Apr. 2013 The Nishio factory was constructed and put into operation.
Dec. 2013 CF Fukoku Luxembourg S.A was liquidated.
