This fascinating type of work allows employees to truly experience company management and company growth for themselves

The Corporate Division contains various functions such as finance, general affairs, information systems, human resources, and management strategy. FUKOKU is a listed company expanding on a global level, so it is required to strike the proper management balance between continuous growth, compliance, and financial soundness. We also need to continue to run our business in a way that earns the trust of customers, employees, shareholders, and local societies. The Corporate Division provides a range of services to build group infrastructures (including IT platforms) and help the company to grow, in its role as a division supporting such activities.

One characteristic of Corporate Division work is how closely related it is to company management. We therefore sometimes act as a bridge between company management and other divisions (or even between the company and its employees) with regard to problems and issues facing the company. For example, let us assume that the Human Resources Department is considering a new scheme to promote a positive work-life balance. Employees have indicated that they would like for a flex-time or remote work program to be introduced. However, company management is concerned that a flex-time program could cause work stoppages if people are not around, or that a remote work program could reduce productivity because it is more time-consuming than communicate face-to-face. In this case, the Human Resources Department would serve as an intermediary between company management and employees, listen to opinions from both sides, and try to reach the best solution for all.

Employees can gain expertise in their respective departments, whether as professionals in finance, legal affairs, or human resources, or as IT specialists with expertise in the latest IT technologies. While focusing on expertise in areas such as finance, human resources, and information systems, employees in the Fukoku Corporate Division gain experience in multiple roles through a job rotation system, allowing them to develop a broad sense of balance with a management sense and a global perspective. Many comparatively young employees (in their early 40s) are selected to serve in management roles in overseas offices, where they apply their expertise in further developing their careers. These employees gain a high level of expertise and can use this to help the company to grow. Working in the Fukoku Corporate Division means plenty of career potential and satisfaction.

Aiming to become a human resources manager in an office in Thailand

Human Resources Department (hired in 2019, studied management studies [Japanese language management], born in Bangkok)

I was hired by FUKOKU after graduating university in Thailand. I decided to work here following my internship at the FUKOKU Human Resources Department. Among other things, my work involves managing attendance and employee welfare and benefits, so that everyone can get their jobs done easier. I still worry about my Japanese skills and there have of course been difficult times where I’ve made a mistake due to lack of communication. However, I’ve also been able to learn from my mistakes and now recognize the importance of reporting, contacting, and consulting with others if something goes wrong. My goal is become a human resources manager in an office in Thailand. That’s why I keep studying every day! I always try to find something enjoyable even about routine work, and always maintain a positive attitude.
